In our section: ‘Employee in the spotlight’ we would like to show which people are behind our organisation. Every day, Archive-IT is committed to supporting organisations in the transition from a paper to a digital working environment. In addition, software is developed to guarantee safe, digital accessibility. But who does what? And what are the motives of the employees of the Archive-IT team? Time for a look behind the scenes.

In the ‘Employee in the spotlight’ of July, Patrick Thijssen was nominated by Paul. We would like to introduce Patrick Thijssen to you!

How did you end up at Archive-IT?

“I used to work through a secondment agency. Because the project was coming to an end and I preferred not to work via a secondment structure anymore, I had to look for a new challenge. That’s when the application started and I looked at several vacancies. The vacancy that Archive-IT had open was very much in line with my interest and at the time I was living in Reuver, so that was an additional advantage: an opportunity not to be missed! And so I have been working at Archive-IT since 2011.”

Can you tell us something about your current position?

“My current job title is ‘consultant’. This is a truly varied job. Among other things, I am involved in the implementation of our software at customers, dealing with questions from customers and helping with problems relating to software or the process. I am also responsible for the application management of AFAS, our internal ERP package. I do not have an average working day. My day can be planned in part, but I also have a lot of free space, because customers can, for example, come up with questions at any time and I help them immediately so that they can move forward again.”

Nice to know: Patrick has made a big career switch. He used to be determined to become a chef in a Michelin-starred restaurant!

Where do you get satisfaction during work?

“I mainly get satisfaction from satisfied customers! The moment customers are satisfied with what you do, I can help them and they can get on with their work, I get a good feeling about it. I am satisfied when both customers and colleagues are well helped with their problem. I also regularly give software demonstrations to potential customers. If we, as a team, can get these organisations enthusiastic and convince them, it will certainly give me an energy boost!

What makes Archive-IT the organization you like to work for?

“This is mainly due to the ties between colleagues. Because of the short lines of communication within the entire organisation, there is a lot of contact and a lot of respect for each other. This creates a pleasant working atmosphere with nice colleagues. Because of my position, I have contact with all departments of the organisation, which I personally find very pleasant.”

You can put someone in the spotlight for the next month. Who do you want to nominate and why?

“Henk changed his position within Archive-IT last year and is now responsible for testing the software. Testing is an important part of the process and I think it should be put in the spotlight!”
